Susanna Condron, the mother of pop duo Jedward has died after a long battle with cancer.

Jedward’s Mum, Susanna Condron worked as her sons’ manager for many years and was instrumental in their success as reality TV stars after they shot to fame on The X Factor in 2009.

She started work as a teacher in secondary school in 1984 and taught for 26 years until she left to work for her sons. Susanna started work Jedward’s personal assistant before working as their tour manager and took over as their manager in 2013.

Jedward were described by Simon Cowell as “not very good and incredibly annoying” when they auditioned.

But thanks mainly to Irish guest judge Louis Walsh, the boys made it through to the final 12 contestants and the live shows.

They managed to come sixth and were immediately taken on by Walsh, before releasing their debut single, a mash-up of David Bowie and Freddie Mercury’s Under pressure and Vanilla Ice’s Ice Ice Baby.

Susanna was her twin boys’ biggest fan and supported them through their meteoric rise to fame.

JEDWARD have paid tribute to their mother

John and Edward Grimes took to Twitter to share the heartbreaking news that their beloved mum had died after “living with cancer for many years” on Friday.

The 27-year-old pop twins posted two pictures of them cuddling up to Susanna, writing: “Rest in peace Mammy. You live on through us.

“We will miss you and your smile. You shaped the character of who we are.

“Mammy lived with cancer for many years but was always full of life! You live on in our Memories and will always be alive in our Hearts.”

Susanna worked as a secondary school teacher in Dublin for 26 years before working full-time as her sons’ manager following their rise to stardom on The X Factor in 2009.

Fans and friends of Jedward shared their condolences, with many remembering Susanna for her instrumental role in their success.

One person wrote: “Oh sweethearts, I’m so so sorry! All my love to you!”

Another fan replied: “I’m absolutely devastated. Susanna has always been as much a part of the Jedward experience for me as you are. I can’t even imagine how you’re feeling right now, I’m shaken”.

A third added: “She was always so proud of you and will forever be proud of you and everything you achieved! And now she’ll live forever through your legacy and all of us”.

Susanna is survived by her three sons John, Edward and Kevin, and her husband John Grimes Snr – who she lived with in Lucan, Dublin until her death.
